Institute of Technology Management, National Tsing Hua University

National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), together with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), have enabled Hsinchu Science Park to become Taiwan’s “Silicon Valley.” The Institute of Technology Management at NTHU was established in 2000 and has been providing graduate degree and doctoral programs since 2005. Its aim is to become a leading innovation and technology management research center in both Taiwan and Asia, and to develop a sustainable economy. The program is positioned as a bridge to commercialize abundant research outcomes from National Tsing Hua University and reinforce a competitive advantage for neighboring Hsinchu Science Park. The MBA curriculum covers the areas of technology marketing, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and is specifically designed to foster interdisciplinary talents from various educational and professional backgrounds through practical applications. Students are encouraged to take courses from the Colleges of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Humanities and Social Sciences to expand their horizontal and integration capabilities. Research fields include both the public sector and private entities such as the computer, semiconductor, biotechnology, professional services, and renewable energy industries. Faculty members regularly publish articles in first-tier journals, including the Strategic Management Journal, Research Policy, Human Relations, Organization Studies, Journal of Product Innovation Management, and Journal of Economic Geography, among others.
